Midnight Snack

Both the kids were quietly in their beds. We had a busy day so I didn't anticipate either of them getting out. So I figured I'd catch up on some of my DVRed TV while I ran on my treadmill. Even with the high volume of the TV and the sound of my treadmill, I can usually hear them summon me.
What I didn't take into consideration was how sneaky my daughter is. An hour later, I came downstairs to find the pullout pantry open and the package of Fig Newtons opened of the floor. Apparently Camryn had a midnight snack while I was running mine off!!!
I don't know whether I should be more concerned about her late night eating habits or her ability sneak downstairs past my bedroom door undetected!

Dylan has become quite the little reader. He is to the point where he can pull any book out of his bookcase and read me some of it. He is so proud of himself!!! He reads everything from my emails over my shoulder to signs as we drive around town. I love hearing him read and am his biggest cheerleader when he sounds out a word!!
But he is making some adorable mistakes, that I have to share:

1) Whenever he sees an exclaimation point he reads the word "wow" And no matter how many times I've explained it to him, he insists his teacher told him it's a "wow"

2) we don't come across this one often but when we do I can't help but laugh out loud. When people sign their name with Xoxo (Fancy Nancy is a camryn favorite) he says " ox ox" and then realizing how silly it sounds asks why it says it!

Storytime before bed is a whole new experience. It's amazing that he is already reading to me! I can't help but brag... I'm a proud mom!!!

I should have known when I found a permanent marker with the cap missing and no sign of vandalism to my house that I had gotten off too easy.

It wasn't until bath time that I discovered the graffiti:

When I asked Camryn why she drew on herself she replied:

"Because I couldn't reach the paper!"
